11/29/2018 – Though the core members of the Necromancers of Yew had been destroyed, the fruit of their foul magic, the Ancient Revenant, was loose in Britannia with its relentless mission to kill focused upon Lord Blackthorn. The power of this entity granted its prey no sanctuary or safe harbor any place within Britannia or even beyond it. For this reason, Lord Blackthorn came to Yew, the place of its summoning, to confront the Ancient Revenant himself along with the assistance of the Rangers Guild. The King’s instructions were that he was to be guarded while he entered into a deep meditative focus to harness magic that he believed could weaken the revenant just enough that it could be destroyed. Without warning, a legion of the dead came out of the woods and invaded Yew proper. Despite the overwhelming numbers the rangers managed to hold the line until the revenant itself appeared – except appearing not as one, but two separate forms. In a final, devastating fight the rangers overcame these entities born of ancient and terrible magic and prevented the death of the king. It was believed then that the threat of the Necromancers of Yew was finally vanquished.
