5/30/2019 – The Rangers Guild received word from Vasuki that, as he said he would in their previous meeting, he requested their assistance for a task. Wary of what the mysterious headmaster wanted, the rangers traveled to the meeting spot in Jhelom, and to their surprise encountered their friend Jonny, who strangely seemed to know why they had come. Curiously, he also seemed to know what Vasuki was going to request from them, though did not say exactly what it was, except that it was a heavy task that he sadly agreed had to be done. He advised the rangers to agree to Vasuki’s request but also warned them that the headmaster was “Bad. Very Bad.” As he sensed Vasuki coming near, Jonny wished the rangers good luck, and departed.

Vasuki, in his typically cold manner, explained to the rangers that not only had the Brothers in Arms located a new source of dream venom, but they were serving as guards for the lab that was producing it. The Brothers in Arms, Vasuki claimed, was no longer the noble and virtuous school it claimed to be, but now little more than a criminal organization that deserved to be destroyed. Destroying it, he claimed, was the only way to save it. He sent the rangers to the mainland jungles where the lab was suspected to be, but as they went through Vasuki’s moongate, to their surprise, they encountered Keith.

Keith, who had been kicked out of the Brothers in Arms, had formed his own school along with other Brothers that had been banished which they called the “Brothers Lost” school. Also aware of the Brothers in Arms activities, Keith was on a mission to undermine their dream venom facility with the hopes of saving the Brothers in Arms from destroying itself with its own addiction to the venom, but needed more help to take on the Brothers in Arms’ fortification. Together with the Brothers Lost, the rangers laid siege to the small fort that protected the laboratory’s entrance. Even after defeating the external defenses, the doors remain fortified until Keith dragged out a cannon he had hidden earlier in preparation.

In a short time, the rangers found themselves underground, fighting through yet more students of the Brothers in Arms as well as members of the Viper Gang involved in producing the dream venom. Though the Viper Gang and the Brothers in Arms were able to put up a fierce resistance, gradually they succumbed to the combined might of the rangers and the Brothers Lost. When the last enemy fell, a mysterious priest, his face obscured beneath the hood of his robe, appeared before those gathered to claim that Britannia would soon enter a new age, one that no longer needed the eight virtues. Hinting that the dream venom was an invention of a “master alchemist”, the priest indicated that the very same alchemist had also invented a way to disperse lethal doses of his dream venom into the air. As the priest spoke, foreboding blue gas began leaking from the crates that surrounded the rangers. The room became shrouded in a haze of the gaseous, dream-inducing drug. As the minds of the rangers began to succumb to the poison, there suddenly appeared before them a monstrous form, an entity seemingly out of a nightmare. It was unclear whether they were experiencing reality, or merely a hallucination or dream, but dream or no they battled against the unusual form. Though many fell the ferocity of the battle managed to clear away much of the poisonous smog, and as the haze cleared the rangers found that the creature they had fought really had entered their reality after all.

As the rangers were recovering from the vicious fight, Abigail showed up and helped the rangers return home, saying she would remain behind to investigate the lab for any clues that might help them.
