Stratics Reviews:
Shot
Online - by Tiveria - added 11/01/06
If hack-n-slash is not your thing, maybe you'll find Shot
Online a nice alternative to the typical MMO. Set on a
golf course in anime-style, this title provides a calming
approach to the traditional online experience.
EverQuest II
- by Kirk "Moxcamel" Rafferty
Five years after launching what would become the
definitive name in massive online role-playing games,
Sony Online Entertainment has unleashed the heir apparent
to the title, EverQuest II. It's a tough act to
follow, and Sony must certainly be aware that in addition
to the expectations that come with a normal launch,
thousands of EverQuest fans are watching with a
critical eye.
FaitH
- by Jen McClaren
FaitH is played in eras lasting about 3 months. You play
the emperor or empress of a province that is part of a
larger kingdom. Depending on which account you pay for
you can customize more parts of it on creation, like the
layout of your map, statistics, a custom general, your
appearance, and the time of your tax seasons.
Anarchy
Online: Shadowlands- by Andree
"Meister" Ehrig
Not an easy task, considering the sheer proportions of
this expansion pack. An entirely new world, thousands of
new items, loads of monsters, improved graphics and
sound, lots of new features and two new professions.
Legacy
Online- by Misty
"Beans" Matonis
Legacy Online is unlike any other massively multiplayer
you've ever played before. Well, chances are you've never
even heard of it, let alone played it. And, if you're a
fan of simulation games, frankly, you should be ashamed
of yourself.
Dark
Ages: Medenia - by Nelson Thackuchadded
04-17-03 Dark Ages is a roleplaying game where players are
actually expected to roleplay (what a concept). When I
first read this, I was overjoyed that there was a company
requesting and enforcing the laws set forth in a RP game.
A
Tale in the Desert - reviewed by Andrew
"Tchrin" Knightadded 03-01-03 When you think of Massively Multiplayer Online Games
(MMOGs), what do you think of? Chances are the list will
include, leveling, combat, camping, monsters. Well A Tale
in the Desert has none of these things.
EverQuest
- re-reviewed by Sarah
"Tabrizia" Rosenbergadded 02-28-03
EverQuest is one of the most well-know massively
multiplayer online role-playing games in the genre, with
a number of elements that are standard to most common
fantasy games, and a number of similarities to Dungeons
& Dragons and other role-playing games.
The
Sims Online by Tammy
"Thalia" Daviesadded 02-26-03 Let's take it online! That's what Maxis and
Electronic Arts decided to do with their best seller
game, The Sims. Released in December, this
highly advertised game did not meet expected sales but
hasn't done nearly as badly as previously reported. With
sales just recently reaching the 100,000 mark and
reported player accounts totaling over 80,000, The
Sims Online seems to be hanging in there.
Motor
City Online Review by Misty "Beans"
Matonisadded 03-20-02 Headlights blazing, engines revving, grease under
your finger nails. There's no better way to describe the
experiences you have when you play EA Seattle's Motor
City Online. Misty Matonis' latest game review focuses on
Motor City Online and it's a must-read for any and all
gear-head fans.
Asheron's
Call Review by Chris "Aldor" Cottgias added
05-16-01
The game is based on the premise that Asheron, a once
mighty magician, accidentally opened a portal to Dereth
while tinkering with different magics in portal
summoning. This portal allowed various creatures, among
them the mighty Olthoi, to infiltrate the land and call
it their new home. In a bit of a panic, Asheron opened up
a series of new portal to try and help the Empyreans, his
fellow race of super-humans, to escape.
Star
Peace Review by Danciy Dynae added 03-12-01
Knowing that the great majority of us will never
experience extreme prosperity or recognition, games such
as Star Peace, allow us persistent worlds in which to
test our competence as leaders and successors.
